The BEA bioprospects, isolates, identifies, characterizes, preserves and supplies microalgae and cyanobacteria, in addition to offering services related to the production, characterization and evaluation of these resources. All this under the framework of sustainable exploitation of the biodiversity of microalgae and cyanobacteria based on the fair and equitable distribution of benefits (ABS) derived from genetic resources, in accordance with the Nagoya Protocol and the provisions of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).
